Are you an advocate for refugee rights and want to help make a difference? Do you have management and organisational skills? Then we are looking for you! Europe Must Act (EMA), a growing European movement advocating for fair and humane migration policies, is currently looking for someone to take on the role of Coordinator of the Raising Voices team. This is an online volunteering (unpaid) position. Through the Raising Voices project, Europe Must Act gives people on the move the opportunity and agency to raise their voices, becoming the narrators of their own stories. All videos and audio testimonies come from the community itself - from refugees and residents in border regions of Europe, to volunteers and humanitarian aid workers. These testimonies are shared on social media. We act with empathy, hope and passion and are united by our commitment to challenge indifference and tackle human rights abuses. We seek change on many levels by speaking up with people on the move, engaging European citizens and holding authorities accountable. Responsibilities: We are looking for someone to share the role with the current Coordinator. This will involve:
Facilitating twice-monthly Zoom meetings for the Raising Voices team.
Organising work distribution within the team.
Ensuring EMA’s strict Safeguarding guidelines are abided by when collecting testimonies.
Being proactive to make sure projects get finished on time.
Being the first point of contact for people inside and outside of EMA.
Looking for relevant training opportunities for the team.
Recruiting new volunteers if needed.
Previous experience managing a team and facilitating meetings is preferred.
Working knowledge of the European migration context.
Ability to work independently and in a multicultural team.
Time requirement: approx 4-5 hours/week for minimum 6 months.
Desired: Previous experience working with people on the move
The current Coordinator will provide support as you settle into the role. After the first month, you will join the EMA Coordination team and will be expected to attend weekly meetings.
