Opportunity: Social Media Team Writer & Editor


Are you an advocate for refugee rights, and want to help make a difference? Do you have social media, communications, and writing skills? Then we are looking for you!


Europe Must Act (EMA), a growing European movement advocating for fair and humane migration policies, is currently looking for two people to take on the role of writers & editors for the social media team. This is an online volunteering (unpaid) position.


We act with empathy, hope and passion and are united by our commitment to challenge indifference and tackle human rights abuses. We seek change on many levels by speaking up with people on the move, engaging European citizens and holding authorities accountable.



Responsibilities:

  • Producing social media content in line with EMA’s narrative and messaging - Drafting and editing written content (captions for various social media platforms, blog posts)

  • Proposing blog & social media post ideas

  • Liaising with the Social Media team Focal Points

  • Attending bi-monthly team meetings

  • Checking team communication platform on a daily basis

  • Optional: taking lead for a specific social media platform


Commitment:

  • Output requirement: approximately 1 post per week

  • Time commitment: 6 months minimum


Requirements:

  • Knowledge of main social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn). Previous experience with social media and communications is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and in a multicultural team.

  • Good knowledge of the European migration context.

  • Previous experience working with people on the move is appreciated.
