We're looking for a Volunteer Graphic Designer!

Europe Must Act is currently looking for a Graphic Designer/s to join our Team!

Europe Must Act (EMA) is a growing European movement that unites activists, organisations, and people with lived experience of forced migration through tools, knowledge, and community, together creating collective action for a humane approach to the rights and dignity of people seeking safety in Europe.

We're currently looking for a graphic designer/s to help us combat misinformation, build civic participation, and protect the rights and dignity of people seeking safety through visual storytelling. This is an online volunteering (unpaid) position.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Creating visuals and social media graphics on Canva in line with EMA's branding.

  • Taking report drafts and turning them into ready-for-reader, designed versions on Canva

  • Adjusting layouts across language versions (English, plus 1–2 translated languages).

  • Working with the comms team to generate ideas and lead on visual storytelling

Requirements

  • Experience, knowledge, skills and/or background in graphic design

  • Ability to communicate, work independently and in a multicultural team

  • (Desirable but not essential) Familiarity with report design, campaign toolkits and resources translated across languages.

  • An alignment with Europe Must Act's goals to build a community across Europe in order to combat misinformation, strengthen civic participation, and protect the rights and dignity of people seeking asylum.

  • Time requirement: ad hoc (estimated at a few hours per month depending on projects)

Why volunteer with us?

  1. Be a part of a growing Europe-wide social movement

  2. Working in a multicultural, diverse and fun work environment, you’ll meet volunteers and activists across Europe and build your network

  3. Broaden your CV and experience of advocacy design (a reference can be provided)

  4. Build your portfolio in a space with creative freedom and ownership

  5. Exposure to multi-country audiences

This role is perfect for any early-career graphic designer who wants to build their portfolio or someone looking to gain more experience in the nonprofit/advocacy space.

We work collaboratively at EMA, valuing everyone's input, feedback, and advice - an ideal setting to grow, take ownership of your work, and feel part of a community. As this is a volunteer role, we're aiming to bring on two graphic designers, so there's flexibility, support, and space for fluctuating capacity.

If you are interested in applying for the position, or have any questions, please send us an email at onboardme@europemustact.org explaining your motivation and background.

Deadline: 23:59, 10th July 2026
