We're looking for a Volunteer Research Team Co-Focal Point!


Are you passionate about refugees’ rights and want to help make a difference? Do you have great research, analytical and interpersonal skills? Then we are looking for you! 


Europe Must Act (EMA), a growing European movement advocating for fair and humane migration policies, is currently looking for a person to take on the role of a Co-Focal Point for the Research Team. This is an online volunteering (unpaid) position.


Our research team sits within our Research and Collaborations Team, and is dedicated to investigating and writing about some of the most current topics affecting people on the move in Europe. We’re a fantastic team with a vast array of experience who learn from each other. 


As a Team Focal Point, you’ll be contributing to our research projects as well as gaining experience in Research planning and advocacy strategy. Working with our other EMA teams, you’ll work towards EMA’s key goals, ensuring that our work has an impact. 


Shared Responsibilities:

  • Organise meetings, meeting agenda and meeting notes (for those who missed it)

  • Coordinate new ideas and update EMA Report schedule

  • Coordinate Report roles and deadline

  • Communicate with the internal teams regarding updates, recruitment and project needs

  • Ensure the team is working towards the central EMA deliverables


Requirements

  • Commitment to EMA’s goals and values

  • Good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a multicultural team

  • Ability to write in English (no need to be perfect, we support each other)

  • Interest in research (no professional/academic experience required)

  • Time requirement: min. 4 hours/week for min. 6 months

  • Desired: 

    • Experience researching and drafting academic reports concerning people on the move

    • Leadership and organisational experience


*As this is a Focal Point position, we require external applicants to undergo a 1-month onboarding period, where they will participate in their chosen team as a volunteer before assuming their responsibilities as a Focal Point.
